Ulf Almqvist is a tall, funny Swede, who grew up in Järna, near Stockholm, pulling pranks, fishing, and sailing a wooden boat up and down the Baltic Sea with his father, mother and brother.

When he turned 30, Ulf quit his job and ran off to Southeast Asia and Australia for a year of solo backpacking off-the-beaten-path.
When he was 36, he moved from Gothenburg, Sweden to Brooklyn, NY and changed his (hair)style...
In 2005, Ulf was picked up by Jen in a Brooklyn bar, and they began to plan another radical change – and a return to the sailing life...
